The task

Create three 2x3 inch grayscale thumbnail sketches demonstrating high contrast, low contrast, and atmospheric depth.

Steps

  1. Draw three 2x3 inch boxes on paper or in your digital canvas.
  2. Establish a 5-step value scale (White, Light Gray, Midtone, Dark Gray, Black).
  3. Sketch Thumbnail 1 focusing on high contrast focal point.
  4. Sketch Thumbnail 2 focusing on subtle low contrast values.
  5. Sketch Thumbnail 3 demonstrating atmospheric perspective (dark foreground, light background).

Portfolio Deliverable: Upload your final project artifact to your Google Sites Portfolio under the section specified in Classroom.
