Graphic Design Fundamentals

In this unit, students explore the basics of visual communication and design. They learn to apply graphic design principles like layout, typography, and color theory while creating simple media pieces. Students also build out their personal portfolio site, using original graphics and branding elements.

This unit emphasizes design principles and professional presentation. By the end, every student will have created a set of visual assets and integrated them into a working portfolio page.

Activities
Students practice design fundamentals through short exercises (balance layouts, color palette experiments, typography practice). They complete a polished poster, logo, or banner design and upload it to their portfolio with a short written explanation.
